In March we went on a Spring Walk.

We made cherry blossom trees using card and crepe paper.
We wrote a Spring Acrostic poem.

Spring is a wonderful time of year
People love the colourful flowers
Returning birds come home to nest
I can see animals with their babies
Now trees are drowing leaves

Green, green everywhere!

We displayed them together outside our classroom.

We made the Easter bunny.

We visited chicks in the Senior Infant's classroom.

When we got braver we held some!

We took part in crazy hat and hair day to raise money for Ms Burke Heneghan's trip to Cape Town in the summer. She will be working as a volunteer there. We looked great!

Seachtain na Gaeilge

We did lots of fun stuff for Seachtain na Gaeilge.

We learned an Irish dance in PE.

We played Cén t-am é Mac Tíre?
What time is it Mr. Wolf

We dressed in green the day before St. Patrick's Day.

We had a ceolchoirm (concert) and performed An Haka Gaelach agus Léimigí Casaigí in front of the whle school.

We watched the other talented classes perform too.

We made shamrock people.

We had the ceilí the following week. We wore green and had great fun showing off our new moves.

We also took part in an Irish dance freestyle - it was so much fun! You've never seen moves like this before!

We loved watching everyone else dancing.

We all sang this song at the end.

Teacher picked out two people who made a huge effort speaking Gaeilge over the two weeks.

Well done to our Gaeilgóiri na Seachtaine!

World Book Day

We celebrated World Book Day on the 2nd of March.
We wore our pyjamas to school!

We showed off our favourite books.

We read them throughout the day.

We had a chance to go to the cozy room upstairs and listen to the story Lazy Ozzie.

But you won't believe it... We all fell asleep!

We had to do some PE then to wake us up!

Grandparents Day

Grandparent's Day was the 1st of February.
We had lots of nannies and granddads come in to visit us.

We made cards for them. They helped us when we needed it!

We recited a poem for them.

Grandparents, grandparents
It's your day.
Sending lots of
Hugs your way.

It's fun to read
And cook with you.
I like everything
You do.

It's fun to spend
Time with you.
Thank you, thank you
For all you do.

We read stories with them.
We even danced with them!!

Thanks for all the nannies and grandads for coming to visit.
